Longarm Services

My goal as a quilter is to make the quilting look custom by carefully selecting the quilting design to compliment your quilt top. My personal aesthetic leans toward quilting that reflects an element or motif in the fabric of your quilt. I enjoy mixing curves and straight lines to create a juxtaposition and I like to experiment with pantographs in different sizes, layering or contrasting thread colors. I am flexible and open to how dense you like your quilting. I have longarmed quilts with very dense quilting, and others with very large pantographs to give a more fluffy appearance. I am happy to resize pantographs to fit your preferred quilting density.

What kind of pantograph design would you like?

Take a look at the pantographs I have available here.

Not sure where to start?

I would love to help! When you book your quilt with me, you have the option to have me pick the design entirely and/or make the thread choice.

For additional options, search any of these websites below. If you find a pantograph that I don't own, I'm happy to split the cost with you to buy it for your project. Search the terms pantograph or edge-to-edge (E2E) to find the right type of designs.

RATES:

I charge 2 cents per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96.

Minimum charge

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend and 100% cotton. I am happy to order specific batting upon request.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

Thread

I stock both Glide (#50 weight) and some So Fine (#50) threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.

My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

Photography
I'm not a professional photographer but I do my best to take "nice" photos with my "good" camera! :) Upon completion of the quilting, I will take photos of your quilt in my well-lit studio and then text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in just outside of Jacksonville, Florida, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Other costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of Florida and Nassau County to collect a 7% sales tax.

Additional Services

Seaming ($15/seam) I will square up and sew your regular-width fabric together for backing. If you have a backing fabric that is directional and repeating, I am happy to match the prints for a seamless look. This requires a minimum of 18" of extra length for each seam.

Quilt Prep ($25) Are you in a rush or don't have time to trim all your threads or press your seams before you send it?

Binding: (Tiered pricing) 10 cents/inch to make your binding; +10 cents/inch to attach to front by machine; +10 cents/inch to finish & attach to back by machine (OR) +15 cents/inch to finish by hand.

Victory Lap ($10) I will trim excess batting from the edge of your quilt and stitch a basting stitch along the entire perimeter of your quilt. This means your quilt is ready to bind once you receive it! Serged perimeter upon request.

Payment

After the work is complete, I will invoice you via PayPal. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
